ASJA Calls For Submission/ Cash Prizes to be won!

The American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA) has announced that they are now accepting  works of Journalists worldwide. Their aim is to see the 2020 coronavirus pandemic from diverse view by presenting the first-of-its-sort COVID-19 Writing Awards. The challenge is currently open, and entries will be acknowledged until July 3, 2020.

She is a member of the ASJA Crisis Coverage Awards. “ASJA is pleased to perceive our associates’ crucial work as they assist crowds with comprehending all parts of the coronavirus pandemic.”

Eligibility

*Entries for this initial round must be distributed in English anyplace in the world between January 1 and June 30, 2020. Articles that are self-selected will get full consideration.

*Make sure to follow the rules. Accommodation expenses will be shared between CASH PRIZES, the Writers Emergency Assistance Fund (WEAF) and ASJA tasks.

*Anyone is allowed to apply.

 

These are the categories for the award:

 

Categories:

  • Business & Economy– including all financial aspects, the effect on contract workers, recession, unemployment and travel and tourism etc.
  • Education– including homeschooling, school-related online classes and virtual internships.
  • Healthcare– including the broad spectrum of COVID-19’s impact on medical personnel, infection spread and testing, hospital overload.
  • Mental Health– including explorations of resilience, grief, isolation, stress, pandemic fatigue, anxiety, depression and suicide.
  • Personal Essays– first-person accounts of any aspect of the pandemic.
  • Politics & Government– including federal, state, local and international government responses.
  • Science– including COVID-19 research, efforts toward vaccines and treatments, virus origin and evolution and future implications.
  • Social Adaptation– including parenting and innovative ways of dealing with isolation.

Technology – including quarantine chats, Zoom popularity, TV shows from home (like Saturday Night Live), tracking technologies, vaccine/treatment technologies and 3D printing of protective equipment.

 

Rules:

 

* All articles considered for an award must have been published in English between Jan. 1, 2020, and June 30, 2020.

 

*There is no restriction on the quantity of articles that might be selected, but one item would only be selected in one category.

 

*Articles can be submitted as either a PDF duplicate or the URL of the article and transferred through the online process. No paper entries will be accepted. If it’s not too much trouble submit through the portal on your payment affirmation email.

 

*Entry charge for ASJA Members: $15, Nonmembers $25, Members of other charitable associations $20. Installments are made ahead of time of accommodation.

 

*Sections are decided by the Crisis Coverage Awards Committee. It is dependent upon the Judges to decide if there is a winner in a specific category. When judging is done, a fair notice might be granted.
