Catapult Magazine/ How to Submit (Payment: $200)

Catapult Magazine is currently accepting submissions of fiction. Your submission could be a standalone excerpt from a novel, a translated short story, or just a short story. While Catapult is very interested in flash fiction pieces, they will take stories as long as 6000 words, though the sweet-spot is 2500 words. The submission portal closes by April 1, 2020.

Who is Eligible to Submit:

  • Anyone from anywhere in the world.
  • There is no submission fee.

How to Submit:

  • Submit a short story of no longer than 6000 words.
  • Or a flash fiction piece that is no more than 1000 words long.
  • Submit only one story at a time.
  • Submit here.
  • If you are in touch with one of the editor’s at Catapult Magazine, send your submission directly to them via email.
  • The deadline is April 1, 2020.


  • Catapult pays as much as $ 200 for each accepted piece.
