The Farm Artist Residency 2025 is now open!

This is an opportunity for visual artists to immerse themselves in the serene landscapes of South West Western Australia and create site-specific projects during an eight-week residency period.

Eligibility for the Farm Artist Residency

  • Visual artists, whether applying individually or as a group, are invited to participate.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess proficient written and spoken English skills.
  • Emerging or professional visual artists, recognized by their peers, are encouraged to apply.
  • Holding an Australian or international driver’s license is recommended due to limited alternative transportation options in the region.
  • The Funded Residency aims to be inclusive, welcoming creatives from diverse backgrounds and professional stages.

Submission Guidelines

To apply for The Farm Artist Residency 2025, please ensure that you meet the following criteria:

1. Submit a detailed proposal outlining your site-specific project and how it will reflect your experience at The Farm.
2. Provide a portfolio showcasing your previous visual art projects and achievements.
3. Include a brief artist statement describing your artistic practice and goals.
4. Attach a curriculum vitae highlighting your relevant education, exhibitions, and residencies.
5. Optional: Include letters of recommendation or references from peers or mentors in the arts community.

Residency Grant

– The selected artist or group will receive a grant of $7,500 (ex. GST) to cover out-of-pocket expenses during the residency.
– The grant covers all fees, costs, and expenses incurred by the artist, including materials, equipment, travel, accommodation, insurance, food, and freight.
– TFMR will facilitate and cover travel expenses to the property from the artist’s place of residence, if necessary, and provide self-contained studio accommodation.
– Please note that no additional fees or payments will be provided beyond the grant amount.
