The Suburban Review Issue #40: Submit

Submit to The Suburban Review Issue #40: UNTRUE

The Suburban Review, Deadline: OCT 27, 2025 | 5:00 p.m. AEDT

In an age of fake news, counterfeits, scammers, and artificial intelligence, the editors are inviting writers to explore how they navigate the layers of deception that define modern life. They seek stories steeped in suspicion, essays built on fallacious logic, and prose that blurs the line between fact and fiction.

The editors want to know what lies beneath the surface—what’s being hidden, what’s been disguised, and what doesn’t quite ring true. They are looking for unreliable narrators, fabricated realities, and artful deceit in language. Whether writers choose to confess or keep their secrets, The Suburban Review dares them to trick, twist, and enthrall with their most convincing untruths.

Theme Prompt:

What’s your truth worth? What stories do you bend, embellish, or invent to survive? Which lies have you loved, and which have betrayed you? From slippery prose to duplicitous poetry—if it deceives, distorts, or dazzles, send it in.
