Submission Guidelines for the Open Arts Prize for Fiction

Before submitting your work, ensure it meets the competition requirements:

• Fiction only (maximum 3,500 words)
• Written in English
• Original and unpublished
• Submit as a Word document (.doc or .docx)
• Use Times New Roman or Garamond, 12-point font
• Only one submission per writer
• Simultaneous submissions are permitted, but writers must withdraw their entry if it is accepted elsewhere.

The organizers will respond approximately two weeks after the submission deadline.

 

What Will Not Be Accepted

The competition specifically excludes:

• AI-written or AI-edited work
• Poetry, including prose poetry
• Academic essays
• Translations
• Previously published work, including pieces posted on blogs, social media, or shared in audio or video formats.
