Attend The Arts & Culture Exchange With Jimi Solanke And Femi Osofisan

The Sankofa Initiative for Culture and Development invites you to the maiden edition of her Arts and Culture Exchange program coming up on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the NuStreams Conference Centre, KM 110, Iyaganku Road, off Alalubosa GRA, Ibadan.

Internationally acclaimed dramatist and scholar, Professor Femi Osofisan and renowned folklorist and musician, Jimi Solanke are the special guests for the event. The evening will commence at 3pm with readings and performances by our guests from their body of creative works. This will be followed by interactive sessions centered on the backstories behind their literary, musical, performance and scholarly works as well as their knowledge of the creative process with a view to encouraging the development of young writers and emerging culture practitioners.

The interactive sessions with Jimi Solanke and Professor Femi Osofisan will be moderated by the trio of Michael Olatunbosun and Ifeoluwapo Adeniyi of Splash 105.5 FM, Ibadan and Tosin Gbogi of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. There will also be a contemporary dance presentation by the I Dance Network, as well as a short drama piece by the CEO Drama Group.

The host, Sankofa Initiative for Culture and Development, Arts and Culture Exchange is a  platform for the revival of a vibrant reading culture and the promotion of creative expressions in literature, arts and culture amongst the nation’s youths. Incorporating the ideals of artistic erudition with the innovations of performance practice and contemporary culture, Arts and Culture Exchange offers an eclectic mix of creative dexterity from leading and emerging culture practitioners in Nigeria.
