Wasafiri Magazine: Call for Submissions (Up to £150)

Wasafiri Magazine Opens Submissions for Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Critical Writing

For four decades, Wasafiri Magazine has remained a key platform for global literary voices, publishing innovative work that bridges regions, genres, and critical perspectives. The magazine is now inviting submissions for its upcoming issue, with a continued focus on writing that pushes the boundaries of contemporary literature.

What Wasafiri is Looking For

Wasafiri is seeking original, thought-provoking work across multiple categories. Submissions should engage with global literary culture, whether through form, theme, or critical inquiry.

Accepted Categories

  • Fiction and Life Writing: 3,000 – 5,000 words
  • Critical Essays and Articles: 6,000 – 9,000 words
  • Book Reviews: 900 – 1,100 words (covering one or two titles)
  • Submit only works written in English or translated into English.

Writers should view research as a crucial part of their process, which they cannot neglect. When done extensively, it builds the credibility of your work and gives it depth. Research extends beyond critical and academic writing; it also improves the work of poets, creative non-fiction, and prose fiction writers. Read more on the significance of research.
