Submission Guidelines For Random Photo Journal
1. Font and Formatting: Submissions should be in 10.5 – 11 pt font size and single-spaced format.
2. Word Count: Fiction pieces should fall within the range of 2200 – 2500 words.
3. Originality: RPJ seeks unpublished works to feature fresh voices in storytelling.
4. Submission Format: All entries must be sent in .docx format to [email protected] with the subject line “Random Photo Journal Fiction Submission”.
What They Want
- RPJ is looking for well-written fiction across any genre.
- While this year’s theme, “Fruit of Labor,” is optional, submissions exploring the rewards and challenges of hard work are encouraged.
- However, writers are free to deviate from the theme as long as their submissions are exceptional.
What They Don’t Want
RPJ does not accept previously published works or entries that do not adhere to the specified formatting and submission guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
- The submission call is open to all storytellers, freelance writers regardless of nationality or experience level.
- Writers are encouraged to unleash their creativity and submit their best work for consideration.
- There is no entry fee.
Author Rights
Authors retain the rights to their submitted works. By submitting, authors grant Random Photo Journal the right to publish their stories in both print and online formats.
Deadline
The deadline for submissions is 12pm on April 2, 2024. Late entries will not be considered.
Payment
The Grand Prize winner will receive ₦150,000 along with the opportunity for their story to be published in both print and online editions of Random Photo Journal. Runner-ups will have their stories published online, with multiple entries selected for publication.
