Call for Entries: The “London” Literary Prizes by The Temz Review

The Temz Review has announced its new annual contest, The “London” Literary Prizes, inviting poetry and prose submissions from writers in Canada and internationally. With free entry, cash prizes, and publication, the prizes are designed to spotlight strong, original literary work without financial barriers.

Important Dates and Details

Submissions are open from 1 November 2025 to 31 December 2025, with results announced in April 2026. Entry is completely free.

The contest offers eight awards across poetry and prose, divided into Canadian and international categories. First-place winners receive $200 CAD and publication, while runner-up winners receive $100 CAD and publication. All entries will also be considered for inclusion in The Temz Review Issue 35.

Submission Guidelines for the London Literary Prizes

Poetry

Writers may submit up to three poems, all combined into one file.

Prose

Writers may submit one short story only, with a maximum length of 5,000 words.

General Rules

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not previously awarded. The use of AI in any capacity is prohibited. There is no theme, allowing writers complete creative freedom.

How to Submit to the London Literary Prizes

Submissions must be sent through The Temz Review’s Moksha submissions portal, which you can access via this submission page. Writers should include a short bio in their cover letter and clearly indicate whether they are Canadian (citizen or current resident).

Preparing a Strong Submission

Writers polishing their entries may benefit from learning how established authors approach craft and community. This reflection on getting writing advice from Chimamanda Adichie and engaging with the literary world offers insight into literary growth beyond the page.

For fiction writers, especially, clarity and control of narration matter. This guide on strengthening point of view in your writing is a useful resource when revising short stories for submission.

Writers looking to build long-term literary experience alongside contests may also explore the professional and creative benefits of writing internships as part of their broader development.
