Submit to The Lincoln Review

The Lincoln Review (TLR) is an international literary journal published annually by the Creative Writing programme at the University of Lincoln and sponsored by the School of Creative Arts. Founded in 2019 by Daniele Pantano, TLR publishes innovative poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, translations, and art from both established and emerging voices worldwide. Contributors have included Carol Ann Duffy, Gëzim Hajdari, Jee Leong Koh, Tom Pickard, Robert Shearman, Virgil Suárez, Helen Tookey, Joan Ure, Maria Luise Weissmann, Jennifer Wong, Franz Wright, and Nurit Zarchi.

Edited exclusively by Creative Writing students at the University of Lincoln, TLR is committed to uplifting underrepresented voices. The journal encourages submissions from BAME, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, disabled, and other marginalised or underprivileged creatives.

Submission Guidelines for the Lincoln Review

  • General submissions: September 1 – March 1 each year
  • Only one submission at a time
  • No previously published work
  • Simultaneous submissions allowed (notify promptly if accepted elsewhere)
  • Average response time: 3–5 months
  • University of Lincoln students and staff may not submit
  • Alumni and past employees must wait three years before submitting

What The Lincoln Review Considers

  • Flash fiction and essays (up to 2000 words)
  • Creative nonfiction (up to 2000 words)
  • Poetry (up to 4 poems)
  • Art and photography (portfolio of up to 6 pieces)
  • Comics (up to 7 pages)
  • Book reviews (query first)
  • Interviews (query first)

Submit your work as a single Word document (or up to six JPGs in one Word document for art/photography) via the submission form. Queries can be directed to lincolnrevieweditors@gmail.com.
