The Mbari Magazine: Call for Submissions — Where I Live
Rooted in the Igbo tradition of Mbari—creation, artistry, and community — The Mbari Magazine, the Story Place is a digital home for creativity. It offers artists and storytellers a space to share their work, connect, and collaborate across disciplines.
For their ninth issue, Mbari invites writers to submit work on the theme “Where I Live.” Writers can interpret the theme literally or abstractly, allowing personal, cultural, political, or imaginative responses. They publish fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and art.
Deadline: 28th February 2026
Pay: ₦120,000 per piece
What You Can Submit
- Genres: Fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and art
- Word limit (text): Up to 5,000 words
- Artwork formats: Text, high-resolution images, audio, video, and other digital media
- Media size limit: 250MB
The Mbari will select four pieces for Issue IX.
Submission Guidelines of The Mbari Magazine
- Interpret the theme “Where I Live” creatively—place, memory, body, language, identity, or imagination are all welcome.
- Email your submission to mbarilibrary@gmail.com.
- For artwork, include your name and a short bio with your submission.
- Make sure you can send all files via email.
