Bloomsday Poetry Writing Competition 2020, Sponsored By The Embassy of Ireland / Prize(N50,000)

The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has launched a writing competition in celebration of Bloomsday. The Prize is called Bloomsday Poetry Writing Competition 2020

Bloomsday is the celebration of the life and works of the great Irish writer James Joyce. Every year on June 16, fans all over the world celebrate James Joyce’s life and the worldwide impact of his writing. This year, Nigerian poets are invited to participate in the Bloomsday Poetry Writing Competition 2020.

The embassy is calling for poems that explore the theme: isolation. Entries are currently open as of today.

The winner gets a cash prize of 50,000 NGN and publication on Brittle Paper.

Deadline for submissions for the Bloomsday Poetry Writing Competition 2020 is: July 16, 2020

How to submit to the Bloomsday Poetry Writing Competition 2020.

  1. Poems should emphasize on the theme isolation.
  2. Poems should be not more than 40 lines.
  3. Submissions should be sent  to [email protected]

Eligibility for the Bloomsday Poetry Writing Competition 2020:

1. Entrants must be based in Nigeria.
