A few months ago, news broke that our dear Chimamanda Adichie, was spotted with a baby bum somewhere in Lagos.
A reliable source just informed us that she is a new mother. The award winning author of Half of a Yellow Sun gave birth to a bouncing baby girl. We don’t know the little girl’s name, but we do trust Ms. Adichie to give her a beautiful and meaningful name. I’ll keep you posted.
This is her first baby with her husband Dr. Ivara Esege.
Early in December 2015, copies of her popular TED Talk, Why We Should All be Feminists was translated to Swedish, and distributed to all sixteen year-old, high school students in Sweden.
Snippets of the talk were featured in Beyonce Knowles’ssong Flawless. The song was in an album nominated for The Grammy Awards. This makes Chimamnda Adichie the first writer to be nominated for the Grammy Awards’ Best Album category.
