Alice Munro Wins the Nobel Prize for Literature 2013

Canadian author Alice Munro has won the 2013 Nobel Prize for Literature.

Munro who won the Man Booker International Prize for all her works in 2009, is now 82 years old. She is the thirteenth woman to win the prize since its inception in 1901. She is also a three-time winner of Canada’s Governor General’s Award for fiction.

She was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature for her work as “master of modern short story”.

Alice Munro has published many short stories and novels.

On receiving the prize, she said she was surprised to win. She such a great writer.
