Sing Lit Station calls for submissions to A Thousand Cranes, a new anthology of poetry on palliative care. They want poems from writers from the Asia Pacific Region who have been touched, in one way or another, by the benefits of palliative care. The deadline for submissions is 30 June, 2020.

Eligibility: 

  • Writers from any of these places are welcome to submit: Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam.
  • There is no submission fee.

How to Submit:

  • Submit a packet of 3 poems on the benefits of palliative care in the Asia Pacific Region.
  • All poems should be submitted as docx. files, 12 pt. Times New Roman font.
  • Your submission should include: Your full name, date of birth, country of residence, country of origin, language of poem, and a bio of no more than 100 words.
  • Poems can be written in any of the following languages: English, Bahasa Indonesia, Bengali, Burmese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Mandarin, Mongolian, Nepali,  Sinhala, Tagalog, Thai, Vietnamese.
  • In the body of your email, indicate if you will be available and interested in attending the Asia Pacific Hospice Conference in Kobe, Japan, which will hold between 10–13 November 2021, to share your poetry. Travel and accommodation costs will be taken care of.

Benefits:

  • All  the selected works (that are not written in English) will be translated into English.
  • A contributor to the anthology will be invited to attend the Asia Pacific Hospice Conference in Kobe, Japan, which will hold between 10–13 November 2021, to share their poetry. Travel and accommodation costs will be taken care of.
